About Dirty Panda
Jul 10th, 2010 by dirtypandapodcast
Dirty Panda is a comedy group currently consisting of Ted Daniel, Nathan Churchwell, and Thomas Knight. In the past, Dirty Panda primarily created sketch comedy videos but eventually began creating animations as well. Dirty Panda has experienced moderate success in the past: their parody of old-time educational films, "Nukes and You", went to SXSW in 2008 and in 2009 their video "Banned Wii Commercial: Trauma Center" reached over 100,000 views on YouTube. During that summer, Dirty Panda set a new milestone when they submitted a short animation called "Metal Gear Solid: Solid Snake in Hard Times" to the Newgrounds MGS Collab, becoming the first group ever to animate a man fighting his own erect penis. On YouTube, the animation has gained over 35,000 views. In that same year, Dirty Panda's animation "Lemon Eyes" gained over 10,000 views on Youtube and won Underdog of the Week on Newgrounds, receiving a 4.13 out of five and over 20,000 views from NG users.
In 2010, Dirty Panda stirred up controversy when they uploaded a steamy clip of "Twilight: New Moon" which showed Bella telling Edward that she was about to climax, but Edward did not want this to happen saying "Bella... I don't want you to cum." YouTube immediately took the video down within a week, claiming it was due to copyright infringement, but Ted and Thomas knew what the real reason was. Stephenie Meyer, the author of the Twilight saga, had been planning to reveal later in the series that Edward was in fact a homosexual during a scene in which Edward reveals to Bella that the glitter on his face is in fact not from being a vampire, but from grinding against guys at gay raves and performing sexual acts for human blood. Bella, shocked and confused, goes to Jacob for comfort, but finds out in a sudden plot twist that Jacob has developed feelings for Edward and is now faced with an impossible decision. Dirty Panda anticipated the ungodly inclusion of a human-vampire-werewolf threesome and intended on thwarting Meyer's plans by creating shirts that said "Team Bella" and "Team Edward", ruining the success of the 3rd movie previously called "Twilight: Lunary Clits", which was to be made as a subtle teen-erotica film. Meyers agreed to give Dirty Panda five million dollars each if they edited out key details from the video and created absolutely no content for 6 months. Dirty Panda followed through with the agreement, but has still not received their payment from Meyers because they got high and forgot to make her sign a contract.
Now, Dirty Panda has set their sights on dominating the world of podcasts with their unrivaled humor and impeccable timing. Some call them the "Beatles of Comedy", others have no idea who they are, but one thing is for certain... Dirty Panda is back.
